Despise the house with the skinny gold topped columns.... the only good part was the small lake with the trees and the stables. I would live there. Everything else bulldoze and let go natural. I feel asleep listening to the music.
Wayne Newton, he has this big estate just a few miles East of the airport. Made most of his money when he was young, he was still doing Vegas shows a few years ago, but his voice is going and people have moved on to other performers. Facing big bills and no income he searched for other options and last year he signed on with a promoter who found funds and tried to turn the ranch into a tourist attraction. Newton got a lot of money then found out how much control he was losing, and neighbors started objecting to the plans. End result is bankruptcy court, the judge ruling against Newton for a lot of things, and now his place going up for sale. We drive past the high walls all the time, but have never seen the inside beyond Google view. We can see the airplane tail over the wall, and there have been news stories about his horses. Sad when childhood starts get old.
I remember reading about this a while back Joe. So sad when successful performers don't know when to retire and don't invest the money they've made properly.
Wow, Joe, it's a lovely place. Putting a bid in, are you? Haha. He must be devastated to lose it. I know I would be. But, I guess it all has to end some day.
Thanks for the blog you have here. I was wondering if you or anyone knew of a good place to get more information on estate sales in Las Vegas NV or anywhere near that area?

It gets you bankruptcy when you spend all of your money and people don't want to hear you any more.
I give up Joe, tell me more!

Ya know, the Casa is large enough it could be used as a retirement home for aging Elvis impersonators.

I've driven past the gates but it's kind of cool to see the rest. He obviously bought it a long time ago. Thanks for sharing it.

Oh, poor Wayne Newton is going to be homeless? You should buy it. Set up a shelter for washed up lounge singers.
