Monday music for your brain

A recent posting by DA referred to this article that discussed how listening to music created the same chemicals in your brain as having sex. So to start out your week right I thought I’d post links to the three musical snippets that produced the most responses. Can’t guarantee anything, but enjoy.

Barber’s Adagio for Strings

Debussy's Claire de Lune

Beethoven's Ninth Symphony – Ode to Joy (I still wonder who Joy was)

Oh great, now I want to have sex with a symphony orchestra!

While as a classical music fan, admitting this is tantamount to pooping in the tuba, I have heard both Barber's original and DJ Tiesto's remix of "Adagio" and while it's soft and slow for a while in the original, the hard hitting remix drives home the "sex"-ness of the song (slow making out to orgasm/cuddling). Funny you'd find an article linking it all up, I thought I was just crazy for being like "Hey, before we get naked, can I turn on the music?" Anyway, I enjoy your blog, it seems so warm!
